Recognise and Remove.

If concussion is suspected, remove from play/activity immediately and seek urgent assessment by a medical doctor. Report to A & E straight away or call 111 for emergency services.​​​​​​​

ACC's Guidelines around concussion in sport.

The guidelines in the video to the right are intended to help provide advice via the NSOs and recreation, education and health sectors to help people (e.g. medical doctors, health providers, first aiders, coaches/trainers, players, parents, sports administrators, school teachers etc.) to understand concussion.

HEADSPACE.

If you have a traumatic brain injury (TBI) the Headspace book is an extremly useful tool to negotiate the changes in your life.

If you are an ACC client that has a TBI that is considered moderate or severe then you are eligible to receive one funded copy of the Headspace Book. This can be ordered by the client, their family, ACC case manager or ACC provider of services on behalf of the client.
