The mana of our Very Injured Players is what drives the Foundation and our partners to provide unequivocal lifetime support. ​​​​​​​

To be considered a NZRF VIP the player's injury must result in total and permanent disability. Those who suffer serious injuries, but will with time recover are classified as near-miss incidents.

Since our establishment in 1986 we have partnered with 117 seriously injured players, half of whom were injured prior to the ground-breaking All-Player Insurance Policy being established in 1998 -and we continue to support three seriously injured players since 1974 – prior to ACC even being established ​​​​​​​
