Although the weather didn't play its part it couldn't dampen the spirits of John Penberthy and his friends as they were joined for lunch by Sir Graham Henry and Grant Fox.
The afternoon tagged Rugby Mastermind Lunch was purchased at the New Zealand Rugby Foundation's annual pre-test luncheon at Eden Park last year.
The group discussed a wide arrange of subjects....well to honest it was all rugby. World Cups, favourite players, problems with the modern game and as the drinks flowed the inevitable GOAT XV was discussed.
Penberthy, a coach of self-proclaimed note reviewed the afternoon "Great fun. They are people you absolutely admire and probably a little intimidated by them, but when you get chatting they are down to earth and bloody good kiwi guys."
"This is the second year Moreton's has come on board by donating a luncheon" says Ben Sturmfels NZRF Events manager. "Such a stunning seaside venue, tied in with an opportunity to chat code with two of the games most astute minds...its always goign to be popular"
Jamie MacKenzie general manager of Moreton's said "Knowing the work the NZRF does its no problem at all for us to support them how we can. Hosting a couple of legends likes Sir Graham and Foxy is always fun too."
This years Eden Park luncheon will be on June 10 prior to the All Blacks v Wales and Mr Sturmfels promises "a vast selection of memorabilia and experience based auctions items. 100% of proceeds form which go directly to the injured players"
